Chef Theo Gumbs

A native son of the US Virgin Islands, Theo is one of the Caribbean’s most accomplished and charismatic chefs combining a deep love of regional flavors with a passion for world cuisines. It seems as if Theo’ culinary destiny was written in the stars.  While attending Charlotte Amalie High School, he was looking to sign up for a carpentry program, but it became full, so he opted for the culinary arts program, marking the start of a promising career and the development of his passion for all things food-related. His talent and flair for cooking became apparent for him during his work at the Charthouse and the Windward Passage Hotel Restaurants. He discovered a perfect amalgamation between Thai and West Indian food. A curious entrepreneur, Chef Theo began to personally manufacture sauces, marinades, seasoning blends and vinaigrettes. Theo, along with his dishes, have been featured on a number of national broadcast stations as Wendy Williams, NBC6 South Florida Today, Canada’s CTV, CBS Fox 5 Washington, DC, New York’s CW11 Morning Show, News 12 Connecticut, and Viacom’s Tempo.
